Hi, I just want to let you know that I am safe and alive. I left my work yesterday less than one hour before the killings start (I work avenue de la République, where 4 people have been shot). I am deeply moved. The streets of Paris are way to empty for a saturday afternoon. The Eiffel Tower lights have been disabled for the first time since 1889. You know, I am afraid, because I live in Paris for 23 years. I spent my all life here, this is my home. And for the first time, home isn’t a place where I feel safe anymore. The emergency state hasn’t been established since 1962 and 2005, but it is now. We are living something stronger than 1985-1986 and January 2015. Paris’s motto is “Fluctuat nec mergitur” : tossed but not sunk. We wil never be defeated by any hate nor religion. We will stand.
